Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling with Genius RF
Our office offers radiofrequency (RF) microneedling with a device called GeniusRF. Radiofrequency microneedling is a procedure in which very small needles penetrate the skin and emit radiofrequency within the deeper layers. This technology allows for the stimulation of new collagen and elastin production over time.
RF Microneedling is commonly used to target:
- Skin texture
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Scarring
- Skin laxity
- Stretch marks
- Pore size
Genius RF is safe in all skin types. It is non-invasive and minimally painful. Topical numbing cream is applied in the office before the procedure.
Immediately afterwards, the treated area will be red and have some pinpoint bleeding. The skin will then have slight redness and a mild rough texture over the next couple of days. In the week following an RF microneedling treatment, we recommend very gentle skin care and diligent use of sunscreen.
For the best results, we recommend at least 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
When compared to conventional microneedling, the addition of the radiofrequency technology in RF microneedling leads to more collagen and elastin production. RF microneedling therefore targets a wider range of skin concerns and produces more dramatic results.
